Dee score in vain as Wales suffer loss

16/03/2024

Wales suffered their seventh successive home defeat in the Guinness Six Nations as they ended their 2024 campaign with the dreaded Wooden Spoon - despite a try from Dragons RFC hooker Elliot Dee.

A try from wing Monty Ioane and two Paulo Garbisi penalties gave Italy an 11-0 half-time lead.

Full-back Lorenzo Pani added a brilliant score with Garbisi and Martin Page-Relo kicking penalties.

Wales responded with tries from Dee, former Dragon Will Rowlands and Mason Grady to give the score some respectability.

Dee and club team-mates Aaron Wainwright and Rio Dyer all started the clash in the Welsh capital.
