Dragons RFC are delighted to welcome a number of former pupils and staff from Pantysgallog Primary School today for our game with Ospreys as our special guests to celebrate their outstanding work on the club.
Pupils from the school spent last year studying the Men of Gwent and developing the Dragons Community app as part of work with our Dragons Community team and Value Added Education (VAE).
Our VAE partnership provides inspiration and opportunities using iPad Technology across the Primary Schools sector to engage with pupils to develop competencies in literacy, numeracy and digital technology. This includes digital drawings, creating blogs, QR code development, augmented reality, data handling, green screen interviews, App development, creating iMovies, AR tours and digital presentation skills.
Pupils at the school in Pantin Merythr Tydfil helped create some outstanding content for the Dragons Community app, from player profiles to augmented reality virtual tours of Rodney Parade – you can download it HERE
They even had a special visit from Head Coach Dai Flanagan at the end of the school year to discover what they had learnt.
And using all the research and facts they found out – including a trip to Rodney Parade – the students wrote and recorded a special song called ‘Pride of Our Roar’ – keep your ears open at half-time!
