League Fixtures for 23/24 season announced

11/07/2023

We start at home! Dragons RFC will kick-off the new BKT United Rugby Championship season against Edinburgh Rugby at Rodney Parade on Saturday, October 21 (kick-off 3.05pm).

The dates and kick-off times for all 18 rounds of the new league season have today been announced.

The Men of Gwent can look forward to a blockbuster first month in Newport with four huge games.

After the Edinburgh opener, Dai Flanagan’s men face a mouth-watering Welsh derby with Cardiff Rugby on Sunday, October 29 (kick-off 2.30pm) before home clashes with Leinster (November 12) and Welsh rivals Ospreys (November 18).

“It’s always exciting to kick-off on home soil and it’s a big first month for us with four games at Rodney Parade, including two Welsh derby fixtures. It’s a chance to put a marker down early in the season,” said Head Coach Dai Flanagan.

“We enjoyed playing at home last season, gave supporters some entertaining games to be a part of, and we want to make sure we make Rodney Parade a difficult place for any side to visit.

“It’s been great to see the level of support during the close season and the number of fans who have already purchased memberships. I’m sure they are all excited by the fixtures and we look forward to playing in front of them again soon.”

There is confirmation of our big Boxing Day trip to Cardiff Rugby (kick-off 3pm) while we kick-off 2024 with a New Year’s Day home fixture with Scarlets Rugby (kick-off 5.15pm).

Supporters can also look forward to South African giants the Vodacom Bulls (March 23) and DHL Stormers (May 10) visiting Rodney Parade in the second half of the season.

On sale dates for fixtures alongside ticket prices will be announced in due course. Season Memberships remain the most affordable way to catch all the action at Rodney Parade this coming season.
