Trio impress for Wales U18s in Edinburgh

10/04/2022

Wales Women U18s enjoyed some notable success on the opening day of the Women’s Six Nations U18 Festival in Edinburgh – as a trio of Dragons Women impressed.

Molly Wakely, Lucy Isaac and Molly Powell – all part of the Dragon Academy Developmen squad – al featured.

Both Wales and France went two from two in their matches, each playing 35-minute affairs on a day when six games were played in all.

Liza Burgess’ Welsh side saw off Scotland and then Italy, not conceding a point in the process.

The Welsh got the ball rolling with an impressive 24-0 win over the host nation, with two tries in the final minutes to cap off a four-try showing. They then followed that up with a hard-fought affair against Italy, dominating territory for long periods on their way to a 14-0 win.

Wales now meet Ireland (kick-off 12 noon) on Wednesday, 13 April in their final outing in the tournament. That will be a full game and the match can be viewed live on the Six Nations Under 20 YouTube channel.
