Dragons are inviting Armed Forces personnel and veterans to enjoy the Rodney Parade experience and celebrate the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant as the Men of Gwent return to action in the Guinness PRO14 against Benetton Rugby on Saturday (kick-off 7.35pm).
After partnering with the 104th Regiment Royal Artillery this season, Dragons chairman David Buttress on behalf of the team, will sign the covenant at the game to show support for the country’s servicemen and women.
Pre-match entertainment will include regiments, units and veterans associations from around Wales with military vehicles, inflatables and more.
All Regular and Reserve Serving personnel will have access to tickets for Dragons home matches through the Tickets for Troops initiative and the wider armed forces family can benefit with access to discounted tickets to the game.
Tickets for Troops was set up over a decade ago in recognition of the brave servicemen and women who spend months away from their families, often at short notice and who put their lives on the line for our country.
Dragons have joined other sports teams and entertainment centres this season in donating tickets to the scheme which troops can share with their loved ones as a small acknowledgement of their commitment, drive and dedication.
William Campbell-Lamerton, Director of Operations at Tickets For Troops, said: “It is fantastic to sign up Dragons Rugby as a supporter of Tickets For Troops. South Wales has a fantastic military presence, and I am sure lots of our members will be heading to Rodney Parade this season starting with the next PRO14 game. We are both delighted and grateful for their support.”
