Jarvis Signs New Dragons Deal

21/04/2020

Experienced prop Aaron Jarvis has signed a new deal to extend his stay at Dragons.

The former Wales international, who has played 24 games for the region, wanted to remain at the Dragons as he is confident the team will continue to improve performances when it’s safe for the action to resume.

Director of Dragons Rugby, Dean Ryan, said: "Aaron is a vastly experienced player for us who brings great composure on the field, he can play both sides of the scrum and is helping us to develop our young front row talents.

“He has demonstrated his commitment this season and is determined to continue to produce his best rugby to help the Dragons move forward in the coming years.”

Jarvis joined Dragons in the summer of 2018 on a two-year contract. The Exeter-born front row previously played for Bath, Ospreys and ASM Clermont Auvergne, where in 2017 he helped the French club lift the Top 14 championship title for the second time in their history.

Aaron has won 18 caps for his country, including three games at the 2015 Rugby World Cup. He is eligible for Wales through his grandmother and in October 2012 was named in the 35-man squad for the autumn series, making his international debut against Argentina in the first game of the series.

Jarvis, 33, follows a number of other senior Dragons players to commit their futures to the region by signing new contracts, including Ross Moriarty, Ollie Griffiths, Rhodri Williams and Jordan Williams.

“I’m really happy to be re-signing with the Dragons,” said Jarvis. “It’s a really positive time to be with the region, we’re working hard and enjoying our rugby with Dean in charge.

“This season we have proved we’re moving in the right direction and I can’t wait to get back playing at Rodney Parade.”
