Captain Cory Hill and a number of his team-mates are ready to swap studs for spikes at a charity golf day – and they got into the swing of things with a special visit to an event sponsor in Newport!
Dragons are holding a golf day at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa tomorrow (Thursday) to help raise money for Wales’ leading cancer charity - Tenovus Cancer Care.
Wales international lock Hill, who became an official patron of the charity earlier this year, will tee it up with a number of his regional team-mates and partners from the region.
Ahead of the big day, a number of the players got some last minute advice and practice at Gorilla Golf in Newport.
Tyler Morgan, Leon Brown, Josh Lewis and Lewis Evans joined Hill at the store on Caerleon Road to test out the very latest equipment and get in shape for a big day on the course.
And it was fly half Lewis who staked his claims to lead the way among the players with a crunching 322-yard drive on the golf simulator!
Lee Arnold, Store Manager at Gorilla Golf, said: “It was a pleasure to see the lads and hopefully we get to see more of them. There were definitely a few low handicap golfers in the bunch!”
Tom Watkins, Commercial & Business Development at Dragons, added: “Gorilla Golf have been fantastic supporters of our golf day and we’re delighted to welcome the players down for some final practice.
“We’ve been really pleased with the support the day has already generated from our partners and our thanks go to Bryn Meadows Gold Hotel & Spa for hosting the event.
“It’s going to be a fantastic and fun day out on the course, but more importantly we will be raising some valuable funds for Tenovus Cancer Care and all the vital work they do right across Wales.”
