SUPER BROK READY FOR MILESTONE MATCH

Prop star Brok Harris is eager for his long-awaited playing return and a ‘big occasion’ as he celebrates his 100thappearance for Dragons.

18/01/2019

The popular front row will return to the starting line-up for tonight’s European Challenge Cup clash with ASM Clermont Auvergne at Rodney Parade (kick-off 8pm).

Harris has been forced to watch from the sidelines during the festive period after picking up a knee injury in training.

However, the 33-year-old is now back and ready to celebrate a major milestone in a massive encounter.

“It’s going to be a good challenge and I am looking forward to it,” smiled Harris.

“I didn’t play them (Clermont) in December so this will be a good outing for me, especially my first game back being my 100thwhich is a big occasion, and playing the top side in Europe.

“The knee feels really good after some live scrums and contact. It’s now about getting some game time now.

“You always want to play in the big derby games, so being injured was frustrating,” he added.

“When we beat the Ospreys it was such a good feeling, but being in then changing room and not able to play is a little bit of a sour and sweet moment.”

Reflecting on a century of games, Harris is quick to pick out the high point.

“The high would be beating Gloucester down in Gloucester in Europe. That was really a highlight for me,” he said.

“The low has been the injuries, twice being injured and missing the derby games over Christmas.

“I still remember playing my first game which was at Twickenham – I actually thought it was ‘the’ Twickenham when it was the Stoop for Harlequins!

“It’s been a good journey for me. I’ve settled in nicely in Wales, I’ve made a lot of good friends here.”

And he believes Dragons will go into tonight’s game in a positive frame of mind.

“The guys are in a good place. We are still putting in the hard work and it’s starting to pay off now,” he added.

“As players we control what we can control and we back him (Ceri Jones) as good as we can and do our part.”

Tickets for tonight’s big game remain on sale all day and up until kick-off from the Ticket Office at Rodney Parade.
