Landman Tribute To Dragons Faithful

Lock Rynard Landman has thanked the fans at Dragons for all their support after joining French Pro D2 side Angouleme on three-month loan deal.

The South African – who has made 115 appearances for Dragons - has made the move to south west France this week.

And the 32-year-old, speaking to Dragons TV at the recent European fixture with Timisoara Saracens, paid tribute to the support he has had at the region.

“The fans made me feel welcome from day one,” he said. “As soon as I signed back in South Africa in 2014 they sent me messages of support.

“I thank them and all the messages I have had since the news of the loan move.

“I’ve made 115 appearances here and they kept me going. When I re-signed my deal there was interest elsewhere, but they were the ones that kept me at the Dragons.”

Landman also pinpointed his memorable moments for Dragons as he looked back on his last five seasons at Rodney Parade.

“Two of my favourite moments were my first Christmas derby when we played the Blues and I got man-of-the-match. That was the last time we won before the recent win over Ospreys, he smiled.

“Also beating Stade Francais away in Europe and then getting the quarter-final win against Gloucester – they were two big wins.”

Dragons face another titanic European battle this Friday at Rodney Parade as they host the undefeated ASM Clermont Auvergne. CLICK HERE for advance price tickets and save money on match day prices.
