100 days until Pro14 Final!

14/02/2019

History will be made once again when the Guinness PRO14 Final kicks off at Celtic Park in 100 Days as the Championship’s showpiece game takes place outside of a traditional rugby venue for the very first time.

It will also mark the first occasion in modern history where the oval ball takes centre stage at the home of Celtic FC which is one of the most iconic venues in the world of sport. Rugby supporters from right across the Guinness PRO14 have responded in great numbers by purchasing their tickets well in advance and a number of categories are selling fast.

Competition to reach the Guinness PRO14 Final has never been greater with 11 teams all in with a chance of making it to the decider on May 25. In both Conference A and Conference B groups of four teams are separated by just two points and with seven rounds left to play the battle to reach the Guinness PRO14 Final Series will provide plenty of must-see drama.

The Guinness PRO14 Final itself has established a legacy for drama, top-class rugby and a knack for creating history. Since moving to neutral ‘Destination’ venues in 2015 – starting with Belfast’s Kingspan Stadium – the Guinness PRO14 Final has seen four different champions crowned in as many years while Glasgow Warriors and Connacht Rugby were also first-time title winners.

In each year the attendance has either provided a sell-out or set a new record with last year’s game at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium raising that figure to 46,092. The fixture itself set a number of records on the field with Leinster Rugby and Scarlets combining for the highest total of points (72) and the highest number of tries (9) ever scored in the Championship decider.

Leinster also set themselves apart from the rest of the pack winning their fifth title to step clear of Ospreys who have claimed the trophy four times.

The Guinness PRO14 Final is an event for all of the family and fans of every team from the Championship as the event that showcases the sport and the tournament itself.

Celtic Park boasts a dedicated Family Stand with entertainment for kids including X-Boxes and play areas, it is perfect for families looking to take in the big match together.
