Ryan looks forward to Sixways return

05/12/2019

Boss Dean Ryan is looking forward to seeing some ‘old faces and friends’ when he returns to Sixways Stadium in European action with Dragons on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Ryan was Director of Rugby at Worcester between 2013 and 2016, helping Warriors achieve promotion back to the English Premiership at their first attempt and also lifting the B&I Cup.

“It will be nice to see some old faces and friends,” said Director of Dragons Rugby, Ryan.

“It will be great to see Cecil Duckworth (Executive Chairman) too, who I have a huge amount of time for.

“There are alslo players, like Ryan Mills and GJ van Velze, who were instrumental in some of the things we achieved while I was there.

“It’s a different management group now, it’s a different ownership group, and places move on very quickly in modern day sport. “

There were some great people and some good times. It didn’t necessarily end the way I wanted it to end, but that is life.

“We’ve got to get something out of these next two weeks,” added Ryan.

“It’s not just about the next two weeks, I’m sure Castres away will play a part. It will be interesting with their two fixtures away to Enisei, which is not as easy a fixture as people believe.

"We will see where we are after these two games and see what we have to play for in the games in the New Year.”

Dragons are next in home action on Friday, December 13 when we welcome Worcester Warriors to Rodney Parade in the European Challenge Cup. Tickets are on sale NOW - click HERE to buy and take advantage of Early Bird rates.
