Jones - Time to produce on tour

06/04/2019

Head Coach Ceri Jones admits Dragons have no excuses not to produce during the South Africa tour.

Dragons face Isuzu Southern Kings at the NMU Madibaz Stadium on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 2pm) in the first of two games on tour in Africa.

And ahead of the game, Jones believes Dragons have both the talent and experience to achieve an away result – but now they must produce on the field when it matters.

“We are looking forward to getting started,” he admitted. “We are going out to get some results and that away win.

“To get the away in ticked off would be very nice. You look at the Ospreys game and we were in positions to win that game and we didn’t. Maybe that is down to leadership and confidence.

“We have a squad with enough talent and experience to be able to go out and achieve – we just need to go out a do it. It is as simple as that.

“You look at the squad and go through it. We have Ross (Moriarty), Aaron (Wainwright), Elliot (Dee) and Leon (Brown), there is clear quality. We just need to deliver.

“It’s a camp in a sense for us away in South Africa. The Wales boys have been away and coming back in so it will be good to get away as a group and get tight.”
