Samoa moved closer to qualifying for the 2019 Rugby World Cup with a comfortable 66-15 victory in the first leg play-off against Germany last week, so they've rung a few changes with Nansen coming in to start after making his previous two appearances as sub.
Last weekend the home side, ranked 17th in the World Rankings (12 places higher than Germany), cruised to a 35-3 half-time lead thanks to tries from Alapati Leiua, Jack Lam and a double from both Melani Matavao and Ed Fidow. A penalty try and further efforts from Dwayne Polataivao, Joe Tekori and a third from Fidow rounded off a commanding performance.
Samoa look set to progress to join hosts Japan, Ireland, Scotland and Russia in Pool A of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
The loser of this Play-off will the four-team global repechage in November that will determine the 20th and final qualifier for Japan 2019.
Canada and Hong Kong are the only two teams that have confirmed their place in the competition so far, with Kenya or Namibia set to join them.
Namibia and Kenya have taken unassailable leads at the top of the Gold Cup standings and will face off in the final round of the competition with the victor claiming a spot at the Rugby World Cup as Africa 1 while the loser will compete in the repechage.
