Dragons Launch 2017/18 Membership Packages

Dragons memberships go on public sale today with supporters able to enjoy a season of action at Rodney Parade from just £99 – with junior memberships free with a paying adult.

A new playing surface, new head coach Bernard Jackman, new signings Gavin Henson and Zane Kirchner and a host of existing stars from Lewis Evans, Cory Hill, Hallam Amos and Tyler Morgan to young guns Ashton Hewitt and Ollie Griffiths will play a part in an exciting season ahead.

The eagerly awaited launch of ‘Seasonal Membership’ and ‘General Membership’ packages for the 2017/18 season comes following last month’s assumption of control of the Dragons by the Welsh Rugby Union, with significantly increased attendances at Rodney Parade an integral part of the long term strategy for the region.

Seasonal members for 2017/18 receive entry to all home matches in the Guinness PRO12, European Rugby Challenge Cup (Pool Stage) and Anglo Welsh Cup (Pool Stage).

A total of 14 matches will be played at Rodney Parade in these competitions with Judgement Day VI, taking place at Principality Stadium, and a ‘Dragons on the road’ game, also included.

“We want to engage with our young supporters and families across the region, and have decided to make junior memberships free this season,
” said Dragons chief executive Stuart Davies.

“This initiative complements our extensive community engagement and player appearance programmes.

“We are at the start of an exciting new chapter as we evolve into a successful, thriving and sustainable region both on and off the field.

“We have appointed a new head coach in Bernard Jackman, started installation of a new hybrid pitch and also refreshed our brand and logo.

“This is alongside a considerable works programme on stadium facilities, all of which will be ready for the start of the season.

“The launch of our 2017/18 membership packages represents the first opportunity for supporters across the region to join us on our journey, as we look forward to better times and an enhanced matchday atmosphere.”

Three new initiatives have been introduced for 2017/18:

• All seasonal members joining for 2017/18 will benefit from a price freeze from the 2016/17 prices.
• A three-year price promise to all members who join or renew for this season. This means supporters who take seasonal memberships this season will pay the same price when renewing for the next three years.
• Free junior membership, when ordered with a paying adult.

Building on the success of the Dragons’ “region on the road” match in May against Cardiff Blues in Caerphilly, one non Welsh-Derby match will be played at a ground in the region – with this game also covered in all seasonal membership packages.

As well as match tickets the compelling Dragons membership package includes exclusive discounts and offers with sponsors and partners across the region, exclusive member events and priority bookings on away travel and international tickets.

General membership is also available which includes all benefits without match tickets and is priced at £30.

“This season we will continue to focus on our big screen camera production, matchday entertainment and ‘We Fight Any Claim Family Zone’, while we will also be adding to our bar provision in the stadium,” added Davies.

“These give our supporters the best possible matchday experience and value from their membership, while helping create one of the very best atmospheres in rugby.

2017/18 memberships will be sold via new Dragons ticketing provider, Ticketmaster. The new system brings a range of benefits:
• Offers can be sent directly to supporters’ Ticketmaster accounts.
• A live interactive seating map for ease of ticket purchase.
• Dedicated Ticketmaster web pages will be setup for clubs and partners to host exclusive offers.
• Supporters can also buy tickets to sporting events and concerts held at Principality Stadium, Cardiff, from their Dragons account.

Dragons Commercial Director Pete Grzonka said: “The Ticketmaster platform is widely regarded as one of the world’s best ticketing systems.

“We greatly appreciate supporters’ patience in waiting for 2017/18 memberships to go on sale, as moved under the control of the WRU and installed and tested the new system.”

Dragons 2017/18 membership deadlines are as follows:

• Early bird prices valid until Monday 7th August (all adult and concession memberships are £30 cheaper).
• Existing seasonal members have until Monday 14th August to renew their existing seat.

Early Bird seasonal membership prices start from just £99 and can be bought online by visiting www.dragonsrugby.wales/Tickets, by calling 01633 674 990 or by visiting the Rodney Parade Ticket Office in person.
