Dragons U18 team to face Scarlets U18s

Newport Gwent Dragons are hoping to make this match count as they take on Scarlets U18s at Maes Y Gwendraeth this coming Wednesday evening.

The Men of Gwent narrowly missed out on the win against Cardiff Blues in December and this year they are hoping to get back on track starting with Scarlets U18s.

Dragons U18s coach Richie Rees has made four changes to the team that took on the Blues in their opening round of the WRU Regional Age Grade Campaign.

The back three have no changes made to it as fullback Joe Goodchild starts alongside wings Correy Howells and try scorer James McCarthy. The centre partnership is all change as Jared Rosser and Ellis Jones are named in the starting XV. The half backs are unchanged as fly-half Louie O’Brien is named alongside scrum-half Joel Harries.

The front row has one change made to it as prop Joel Harries gets the nod from the coaching staff and he joins hooker Owen Hughes and fellow prop Christian Coleman. The second row sees the inclusion of Ashley Gibson who moves into the starting XV from the bench. The bak row remains unchanged with skipper Joe Thomas leading alongside flanker Dawid Rubaniak and number 8 Josh Reid.

The replacements bench sees the inclusion of Wade Langley, Frank Crosby, Aaron Wainwright and Matthew Williams who join Josh Reynolds, Jez Heard, Matthew Bancroft and Matthew Lewis.
