As the teams got underway at the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field, it was the Dragons that got off to the better start. With just a few minutes played the young Dragons side charged over for the first converted try of the night.

Another determined run by the young side saw the men of Gwent cross the try line for a second time that night, but it was not converted. Just a few minutes later the Dragons showcased their flare by bagging their third try of the game and converted it. With 17 minutes gone they lead 19-0.

With 26 minutes gone the Ospreys East under 16's got their first try of the game and successfully converted it.

The Dragons answered this with their fourth try of the night against Ospreys East U16s and easily converted it, further extending their lead.

But it was the young Ospreys who got the final say of the first half as they powered across the try line but were unable to convert it, with scores ending 12-26 at half time.

In the second half the Ospreys began strong as they powered across the white wash and converted the try after only 60 seconds of play. They once again attacked hard and put pressure on the Dragons scoring another try but not converting.

The Dragons responded and eventually made it across the line for their fifth try of the game. The successful conversion putting them 9 points ahead with less than 10 minutes to play. But the Ospreys were determined so they got through the Dragons defence for a final time and scored a try, but this time not converting it. The final scores were Ospreys 29 - Dragons 33.
