Dragons team to face Lydney RFC

Newport Gwent Dragons take on Lydney RFC; on Sunday 24th August KO 15:00, at Regentsholme ground.

Director of rugby Lyn Jones will take the Men of Gwent to the home of ex-Dragons player Duncan Bell this Sunday afternoon, as they face their second pre-season friendly of the month.

The Dragons team to face Lydney RFC sees Rhys Jones, who recently asked to be called by his full name, Geraint Rhys Jones take on the position of fullback. The experienced sevens player is joined in the back three by wingers sevens teammate Matthew Pewtner and academy talent George Gasson. The centre pairing includes youngsters Barney Nightingale, who impressed after appearing for the Dragons last weekend against their win over Bristol, and Cornwall born academy player Andrew Coad. The half back position see Dorian jones come in as fly-half alongside Welsh international Richie Rees as scrum-half. 

The front row consists of Owen Evans, recently returned Rhys Buckley and newcomer Dave Young. The second row takes on a new shape of Scott Andrews and Cory Hill, whilst James Thomas, Scott Matthews and skipper Lewis Evans make up the back row.

The replacements bench occupies a mixture of young talent and experienced heads which includes Hugh Gustafson, Luke Garrett, Dan Way, Matthew Screech, Ollie Griffiths, Owen Davies, Angus O’Brien and Tyler Morgan.
