Dragons new look team to face Mogliano

Director of Rugby Lyn Jones has put his faith in several different faces to take on Mogliano Rugby in their first European cup game at home (KO 7.15pm).

This will be the second time the regional side take on the Italians at home on Friday night and they will be looking to keep their home winning streak intact.

Last week’s Man of the Match Hallam Amos steps out of the wing and into the fullback position and its Tom Prydie who steps in as blindside wing. Will Harries takes on open side wing, whilst Adam Hughes and Ross Wardle make up the centre pairing.

International Kris Burton pulls on the number 10 jersey and Jonathan Evans steps into the scrum half position. The front row stays the same as last week’s encounter against Zebre, as the second row takes on a different form with young gun Matthew Screech and the experienced Rob Sidoli who will run out as captain this week.

Talking about the season so far Matthew Screech said, “From the first preseason game against Bath I wanted to take the opportunity that Lyn and Kingsley gave. I have been lucky enough to get a couple of starts in the Rabo and now this will be my first time playing a European competition so it’s something that I am really looking forward to.

“I just try and play to the best of my ability. I will concentrate on my home game and make sure that I do everything correctly and add anything I can to the game.

“I am going to take my chance and play well and hopefully I will be playing in our next Amlin fixture.

Looking towards the game against Bath Screech said, “It’s going to be a tough challenge playing away from home in Bath. They are going to want to try and prove us wrong, as we beat them in our pre-season friendly, but if we go up there with the same confidence and attitude then we will get the win again.”

British and Irish lion Toby Faletau stays at number 8 and is joined by Ieuan Jones and Nic Cudd in the back row.

The bench also takes on a different form with Phil Price, Elliot Dee, Dan Way, Netani Talei, Adam Jones, Wayne Evans, Jason Tovey and Lewis Robling.
