Newport Gwent Dragons recorded their second win on the road of the season when they beat Edinburgh at Murrayfield, their first win at the ground in the Magners League.

Ceri Sweeney was in sublime form for the Men of Gwent and he scored a brace of tries, one in each half and finished with a personal points tally of 14.

The Dragons led throughout the game and did have the opportunity to claim the bonus point but were let down by a lack of clinical finishing.

Colin Charvis captained the side to the win but The Dragons lost Kevin Morgan in the first half as he limped off with an injured knee.

The Dragons led as early as the third minute when Ceri Sweeney intercepted a pass and raced away for the converted try.

Phil Godman replied for Edinburgh 10 minutes later when he landed a penalty.

The Dragons pulled ahead when Wayne Evans scored a try and Sweeney was again successful with the conversion.

Edinburgh got a penalty from 45m out before Rhys Thomas was shown the yellow card but despite being a man down, The Dragons continued to pile the pressure on the home side.

The Dragons lead was cut to a point when their full back Nick de Luca crossed for a try. The Dragons rang the changes when Ringer came on for Hall with Owen moving to the second row and Charvis to No.8.

With 10 minutes left on the clock, Sweeney got the decisive score when he gathered Wyatt’s kick to score in the corner.

Despite a heavy onslaught from Edinburgh in the dying minutes The Dragons held on for a deserved win.
