The Dragons are back in action at Rodney Parade on the weekend when they take on fourth placed Guinness Premiership side Worcester Warriors.

Worcester Warriors who were new to the English Premiership last season defied the critics and avoided relegation, they are now flying high in the League.

Dragons coach Paul Turner is full of praise for Worcester describing them as a “credit to the Premiership.” Mathematically The Dragons cannot qualify for the semi finals of the competition but Turner states that his team have made their mark on the tournament,

“We have made our mark on the competition by beating Leicester but knowing them they’ll probably go on and win it and we’re looking to continue that form on Saturday.”

Meanwhile No.8 Richard Bryan will lead the team on Saturday commenting on wearing the captaincy armband Bryan said,

“It is a great honour to be given the task of leading The Dragons and I am looking forward to it. We will use Saturday’s match as a springboard for our forthcoming fixtures and it allows players the chance to impress coaches Paul Turner and Leigh Jones. Worcester have a huge physical presence up front and their stats show that they have one of the best lineouts in the Premiership and for competing for opposition ball so it will be a big test up from for us but we are looking forward to meeting them.”

Top Heineken Cup try scorer Gareth Wyatt will maintain his 100% starting record this season when he runs out for the match and has scored five tries in his last five appearances.

“We’ve had a couple of weeks off,” commented Wyatt, “now this is the starting point for Europe again and the league programme against the other Welsh sides. It could end up with three teams on nine points come 4.30pm tomorrow afternoon and even if we can’t get through it would still be nice to end up on the same number of points as the group winners.”
