TACKLE is a new programme funded by BT Supporters Club that engages, inspires and motivates disadvantaged young people in Wales, to reach new goals, create greater opportunities and a better life. The project will deliver sport engagement activity linked with education based on ‘Cage Rugby’ leading to positive opportunity & education pathways for young people aged 14-16 in Wales’ most deprived areas (Communities 1st).
TACKLE will create the first fully collaborative community rugby activity & education programme in joint partnership across all four Welsh regions delivering alternative pathways to education & opportunity through the inspiration of Rugby.
The Community Team at the Dragons aim to succeed in making a difference to the lives of many young people, inspiring and motivating them to enjoy a physically active and healthy lifestyle and transforming attitudes to learning through educational initiatives.
Our community programmes aim to deliver huge benefits to the local community by using the unique ability of rugby to address a broad range of issues. Utilising the Region, its brand, professional players and the stadium, we deliver projects that give all young people involved the opportunity to fulfil their potential and to play a positive and active role in society.
