Cudd ruled out for season

18/02/2019

Dragons will be without back row Nic Cudd for the rest of the season after he suffered a serious knee injury in training.

Cudd’s training injury means he will join Ashton Hewitt, James Sheekey, Aaron Jarvis and Arwel Robson who are all expected to remain on the sidelines for the rest of this campaign.

Availability in the squad has dropped to 82% this week ahead of the trip to Italy to face Benetton Rugby in the Guinness PRO14.

However, better news surrounds Ryan Bevington (concussion) and Brandon Nansen (hamstring) who are both currently scheduled to return to action next month.

Injury updates – Being Assessed

Nic Cudd (knee) – Unfortunately Nic ruptured the ACL in his left knee during training. He is being reviewed in London today (Monday) and has an operation booked in later this month with consultant knee surgeon Andy Williams.

Injury update – not available for selection

Brandon Nansen (hamstring) – Brandon will start his running progressions this week and it is hoped his rehabilitation will put him in contention for the Guinness PRO14 derby with Ospreys in March if all goes well.

Arwel Robson (hamstring) – Arwel will also start running this week as he steps up his rehabilitation work.

No Injury update – unavailable for selection

Ryan Bevington (concussion), Ashton Hewitt (shoulder), Aaron Jarvis (hamstring), James Sheekey (hip), Ben Fry (shoulder), Chris Coleman (shoulder).
