Dragons partnership helps young people ‘Get Started’
In Wales, The Prince’s Trust Cymru has teamed up with the Dragons Community to run ‘Get Started with Rugby’ programme designed to engage and develop unemployed young people through sport, by developing skills to help them enter the world of work.
The ‘Get Started’ programmes targets 15 young people at a time and is open to unemployed
Community Manager at the Dragons, Mike Sage said: “We are really pleased to be working with The Prince’s Trust and believe that this programme gives young unemployed people a fantastic opportunity to develop skills and confidence as well as employability skills.
“The programme is informative, action-packed and fun and increases participants self-esteem. Teamwork is essential in rugby and the
learn to build relationships with others and work as part of a team.”
The Prince’s Trust helps change young lives. The Trust works with young people who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.
In Wales, 3,500 young people are supported each year through its programmes. More than three in four young people supported by The Trust
