The Dragons Community Department has been working overtime to ensure their comprehensive package of community initiatives are being delivered across the entire Region.
COMPANIES SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY
MAKING A REAL IMPACT WITHIN THE DRAGONS REGION
Whilst we are proud of our achievements in the busy world of community activities, we are very aware that without the high level of support we receive from our partners we simply couldn’t deliver the programmes to the high standards that we achieve.
We are delighted that our local & regional primary/junior schools have invested in the community to support us with the delivery of both Gateway and the Second Half. These are the two far-reaching elements that we deliver and without the wholehearted backing from the schools we would not be where we are today.
Tata Steel have again invested in supporting our sporting and education projects throughout the region where they make a positive impact on so many youngsters. The annual Tag finals day has become a real highlight for the 4 teams that make it onto Rodney Parade.
Education Staffing Solutions have also shown commitment by giving further backing to our community schemes and through sponsorship of our official mascot, 'Rodney the Dragon'.
Melin Homes have yet again fully embraced our objectives and are committed to our delivery of educational and sporting ideals, whilst also supporting our Volunteer programme.
Western Power too has maintained their support of our thriving community activities. They understand what we are trying to achieve and their support ensures that we are delivering those goals to disadvantaged young people.
The Motivate and Learn programme has been established and we are delighted to keep that successful initiative intact, especially with the support from St. Julian's High School.
Further to these long term partners we are also proud to retain the support of Wilko for the match day guard of honour, providing a really attractive opportunity for our youngsters.
Both Eastman and Italmatch Chemicals share our vision in supporting our communities' youngsters.
We also welcome some new partners on board who support our inspiring sporting and education programmes. S4C has joined our band of backers by sponsoring the player’s interview and reporting section that the schools complete when they come to visit us on the Second Half project. Always a favourite activity for the pupils who get to meet and grill one of our star players, it will now include a section of Welsh that we can proudly display here at Rodney Parade.
ABC Electrification have also selected to help our workbook with their sponsorship of a page that will require the children to watch a video and use their investigating skills to complete a task based on trains and railway safety, yet another inspiring task for our visitors.
Spytty Park Tesco Store has also invested in a work page in our Second half education booklet which is based around healthy eating. They will also be attending various community events through the year with plenty of giveaways for our young fans.
Our inspiring partnership work continues with the Princes Trust which has delivered many successful outcomes and long may it continue. It was great to visit Buckingham Palace recently to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Trust.
Manpower Group & McGINLEY have also offered valuable support to the community in providing branded rugby balls to deliver our extensive range of activities.
To all of you, a big heartfelt thanks.
